Dive Marine Services recently carried out a full underwater stern tube seal renewal on a commercial vessel in the port of Piraeus, Greece. The operation, executed by our team in Belgium, highlights our capability to deliver complex underwater repairs without the need for dry dock. It was further supported by our global network and conducted in close cooperation with the OEM seal manufacturer to ensure full compliance with all technical and procedural standards.
During the operation, all aft stern tube seals were renewed using Dive Marine Services’ proprietary in-house developed flexible habitat system. This innovative habitat is engineered to create dry dock-like conditions around the stern tube area underwater while the vessel remains afloat. The system provides a fully controlled dry environment that allows our diver technicians to carry out OEM-approved seal changes safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. As a result, the client avoided an unscheduled dry dock, keeping the vessel operational and on schedule, while achieving significant cost savings.
