Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) is a rigorous series of processes involving analytical tools, techniques and standards used to inspect, measure and assess the safety of industrial assets across a wide range of sectors.
Conventional methods of non-destructive testing (NDT) are used in a variety of industry sectors, including oil and gas, renewables, rail, construction and fabrication, shipbuilding, steel production, biochemical, theme parks and fairgrounds.
The methods used for conventional NDT include visual testing, penetrant testing, magnetic testing, ultrasonic testing, radiographic testing and eddy current testing. None of the materials under test are harmed during these procedures.
Ultrasonic Testing (UT) is perform as doing routine inspections or Class Survey of vessels in service. We are qualified to perform our UT on any type of ships such as tugs, barges, offshore supply vessels, accommodation barges, Oil Tankers, Oil Rigs, FSRU, containers, LPG Carriers, LNG Vessels, Chemical Tankers, FPSO, Platforms, Topside Structures and Drill Ships. All testing and inspection come completed with reports for client. DM NDT has highly experienced UT Inspectors who have worked in wide range of industrial sectors performing both the thickness measurements and flaw detection.
We have successfully carried out UTG on a wide range of vessels for class surveys, specific location thickness measurement and/or OB scrubber pipe measurements.
Magnetic Particle Testing (MPT) is performed as part of periodic surveys or inspections of ships to ensure the safety and seaworthiness of vessels. We have completed several MPI successfully on various structures, welding seams and crane structures.
We carried out the Liquid Penetration Testing (LPT). The inspection is normally carried out to determine the operation lifespan. Examples of past projects include flare tip liquid penetrant testing to check for cracks and crane hooks to check for damages.
Conventional Radiography Testing (CRT) is carried during inspection, periodic maintenance, and survey to optimise the operational efficiency
It uses either x-rays or gamma rays to study the inside structure of a component. It is frequently used to inspect machinery like pressure vessels and valves, find faults and weld repairs. It uses a sensitive film that reacts to the emitted radiation to capture an image of the part being tested. This image can then be examined for evidence of damage or flaws.
Eddy Current Testing (ECT) can be carried out as part of preventive maintenance inspection for vessels in operation.
Eddy Current Inspection of welds has been performed on the welds of ship structures for various customers.
Visual Inspection (VI) can be carried for internal and external surface inspection of a variety of equipment types, including storage tanks, pressure vessels, silos, towers, crane, jackets, ships, rigs, topside, platforms, piping, and other equipment.
We have successfully performed Visual Inspection of flare tip riser weld, tanks and pipelines in petrochemical plants using rope access.

It is used to check material characteristics and functionality like wear resistance, toughness, and resistance to impact.

It can also be used for weld overlays and the heat affected zones of other components as well such as piping, pressure vessels, clad material, storage tanks, and structural steel.
Pulsed Eddy Current Testing (PECT) is used for corrosion under insulation (CUI) screening on carbon steel and corrosion under fireproofing (CUF).
Long Range Ultrasonic Testing (LRUT) is an advanced non-destructive examination technique that was developed for testing large volumes of material from a single test point.
Digital Radiography is a faster way of working as it acquires an image and the result is displayed on screen immediately. They are used in Civil Engineering, Construction, Aerospace, Shipbuilding, Oil & Gas, Power & Nuclear and Chemical & Process industries.
Digital radiography of small-bore piping for thickness measurements and weld joints of flare lines for a wide range of clients have been successfully performed.
